Studio Alba Limited (formerly Urras Studio Drama Gàidhlig) consists of a Board of Directors made up of representatives from Seirbheis nam Meadhanan Gàidhlig (formerly Comataidh Craolaidh Gàidhlig) Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Western Isles Enterprise and Comunn na Gàidhlig.

We are the largest independent Studio in Scotland. The Studio was completed in 1996 and was built to accommodate the Gaelic soap 'Machair'. Since then, 'Machair' was discontinued in 1999 due to the financial restrictions imposed on Seirbheis nam Meadhanan Gàidhlig. Machair was last filmed at the Studio in May 1998.

We have been involved in Gaelic television production since 1996. Since our opening in 1996, we have invested heavily in a number of facilities (lighting rig, Chromakey floor, subtitling, editing) to ensure that the industry in the islands remains viable. We have also invested heavily in a number of upgrades which means we can provide excellent services. Usage of our post production facility has grown significantly since the Company was formed. This is due to our vision that we have the best equipment available for producers to complete their projects.

Studio Alba competes well at the moment with the large broadcasters such as the BBC and Scottish television. There is a local agency representation on the Board of Management. This insures that the Company is kept up to date with developments in the local economy and Gaelic sectors. This can identify and pursue opportunities that will generate business for the Studio.

Clients include MG Alba, ITV, BBC Scotland, Scottish Television, macTV, Pelicula Films, Eyeline Media, Bees Nees, Tern Television, MnE, Paracas Media, Saltire Films.
